Tracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. Now an English professor at her local community college, she writes romances that run the gamut from family contemporaries to paranormals to eroticas.

She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and three young sons.

Long Biography

Tracy Wolff has been writing stories since she first realized that the squiggly lines she put on paper made letters and that those letters made words. Born in Detroit, she spent her childhood and adolescence moving from one major California city to another, learning as much about the Golden state and its many art forms as she could. And though she danced and acted her way through high school and college, writing has always been where her heart is.

After studying writing in both undergraduate and graduate school, Tracy began teaching writing on the high school and college level. But when she moved to Texas in 2005 (the same year she turned 30) Tracy decided enough was enough. Though she’d put her writing dreams on hold to start a family and a teaching career, she’d never given up on the idea of one day seeing a novel of hers in print. So she took a year off, penned two novels—The Turn for Home and Picture Me—and then went about the arduous process of submitting to agents and editors.

Within eighteen months, both novels had sold. The Turn for Home is now Tracy’s November 2008 Superromance, A Christmas Wedding, and Picture Me is her January 2009 NAL release, Full Exposure. Soon after, a short story and three other novels sold as well.

Today, Tracy is gearing up for the next eighteen months, which will see the publication of her first six novels, from Harlequin and NAL. A part-time professor at her local community college, she now spends most of her time in front of her computer penning tales of romance and intrigue.

Tracy lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and three young sons.
